First year energy use.

My heat pump has been running for a year now, and my electric bill for the last 12 months was $1400 more than the prior 12 months. No gas heat used, and no fuel oil. I was burning 1400 - 1700 gal....

I sould say that we tried to heat the house with the gas heater, very cold basement, and 2nd floor, 1st floor was OK (64-68 F) most of the time except when the temp was in/or below single digits... ...

The reason I lowered the temp was to try and stop the house from over heating... temp will run 2 deg. past set point.

Radiant floor temp.

I was wondering what tempature you guys are useing for radiant floor heat?

Sould I have a tempering valve on each floor loop? Or just run buffer tank at a low temp? It's set at 90 now, down...

BTU calculation

Anybody have a quick formula to calculate BTUs that I'm getting from the well water in my open loop GSHP? Entering water temp is 52 F, and discharge temp is about 38 F, pumping 12 GPM.
