When we were getting quotes to get mini splits instaled they wanted like $15k for 3 heads so we tossed that idea. Then I watched a video and realized how easy it is so they are back on the table.

Central BC (-25C winters) but we won’t be heating the house with them. Maybe as backup but we have a hydronic slab and two wood stoves.

Does any one have any recomendatioms for a mini split system that I would be installing myself. I know some brands require a licensed tech to instal the unit and I don’t want to have any waeenty...

HWT vs Tankless *New house*

We are currently building a new house and I am trying to decide between a HWT and Tankless unit.

It is 2800 sq ft double story with a 4" concrete floor built on top of 3.5" of rigid insulation...

I’m pretty sure you only need 15-20 PSI for hydronic so I think over heating and bursting would be less of an issue but no one wants issues. I also don’t have endless funds and large diameter Copper...

So all my ideas are a no go lol.. Maybe some conduit buried under the slab with copper pipe inside... I would probably be ok with a copper-pex connection under the slab after 10-15’ if it was in a 3”...

I wasn’t worried about the water temp but more the steel a loop running thru the woodstove conducting heat to the pex connection. How far away from the woodstove would the pipe get hot enough to melt...

I bought a ride on mower that needed a starter and the more I look into it it looks like they tipped it over and the battery ripped out (lugs pulled off cables & hood is broken off..) I hooked 12v up...
