Looks like a kit for a Chevy Volt battery so it wouldn't need to be modified. If so would you have it designed to kick on the appropriate relays so that the cover wouldn't even need to be removed...

I know a number of people think it's silly to go offgrid when there is a perfectly good grid already attached...
