Probably, rooftop location of solar panels is not a safest option for the homeowners too.

Fortunately the fire department can adapt to each and every fire, they all provide different challenges. one example that comes to mind is Skyscrapers a much more challenging and hazardous situation.

I will add we pay fireman handsomely for their "service" my little city of 18,000 pays a big bag of money for.


Fire Department fire chief Tim Pley, with a base salary of $109,074.30 and benefits of $2,826.49, for a total of $111,900.79. He was followed by deputy fire chief Chris Jancowski, who earned $101,802.20 and received $8,491.72 worth of benefits, for a total of $110,293.92.

Chief fire prevention officer Randy Thoen earned $89,355.38 and received benefits worth $7,007.77, for a total of $96,363.15.

Meanwhile, fire captains Peter Aspinall, Edgar Francoeur, Herbert Nadig and Leslie Norden earned a total of $354,156.26 and received a total of $41,608.77 in benefits.

The remaining 12 firefighters earned a total of $880,111.39 and received a total of $92,587,92 in benefits.

The department has 23 firefighters in total, including Pley.

Total 1.6 million dollars for 1 fire every couple of years in which they tear the building down after they have finished.. now that's money well spent !! a Volunteer department can do that for about $50,000-$100,000 a year.

I hope I here no more sniveling about solar panels from the Fire departments, ridiculous.

Nevertheless, there are some additional health concerns similar to this:

There are places that are requiring fire access around the array. A setback distance.
Where I am they don’t even inspect the array and they do not even require a building permit.

Boris these people you speak of, the hypersensitive ones, get "sick" from a cellphone or headaches from a toaster so i think your point here is moot, regarded as potentially debatable, but no longer practically applicable. Although the idea may still be worth debating and exploring academically, and such discussion may be useful for addressing similar issues in the future, the idea has been rendered irrelevant for the present issue..

I strongly disagree with you. There are no doubts - a continuous-wave radio frequency radiation is unhealthy issue in general and especially for young children.

To avoid endless discussions - just one example - the World Health Organization classifies cell phone radiation as Class B Carcinogen.

Its my understanding that low voltage/amperage is harmless.

Well if you hope to enlighten me , explain to me how much electrical radiation is being radiated from these solar panels into peoples houses as your interference with the am radio held close to the array is weak at best and who gives a rats azz at worst, unless your heavily into am radio.

assume the houses roof is 100% covered with solar panels to the tune of 10,000 watts which is a very large array to stick on your roof.

Oddly enough giving my stance, I have a electrical radiation detector ( a ELF meter) with digital readout coming in the mail as i type so I can investigate this very issue with the Power transmission lines that pass over some residences heads.

The voltage of the majority of transmission lines are in the range of 85,000 volts to 550,000 volts assume the amperage to be massive !

I believe that this discussion needs to be moved to the billiards room.
