Amazon.com: Logitech Revue Companion Box with Google TV and Keyboard Controller: Electronics

The $300 Logitech Revue is on sale(Radio Shack) now for $99 (due to the failure of Google TV).
Logitech will not be making anymore units, but there is a 'Honeycomb' upgrade coming soon.

Look at them guts! Logitech Revue Teardown - iFixit

Anyways, my vague idea was to wire this thing up to the small LCDTV in the living room,
so I can watch the morning news and check my Email etc on the TV display.
And this will allow me to watch my Netflix movies without using the big Plasma in the den. :p
I can also log onto my little CAI board and check the status & etc.

The little keyboard is a LOT easier to use than the Tablet's touch-screen KB.
And, it has almost all the functions of the STB's remote included.

I found a Google-TV app for the tablet, that turns it's touch screen into a neat Remote control for Revue.. Does just about everything the KB can do..
(Even plays the DVR) The only problem is, it crashes my tab.. :p

It's kind weird, I press the channel change button on the tab's touch
screen, and it sends a signal via WiFi to the router & in-house-network,
to the Revue, which sends an IR signal to the STB, changing the channel..
All in the blink of a eye..

I think the Revue KB uses a radio to send signals to the Revue unit.
It has the Nordic nRF24LE1 2.4GHz RF System-on-Chip with Flash..
Don't see any IR LED lenses..
And, it can turn down (or mute) the TV volume from another room, with the door closed..

The KB uses 2 AA cells, but I'm not sure how much power the Revue is using.
It does need a fan on it's CPU.. But I'm pretty sure it's going be less than a Netbook..
My little HDTV does have the EnergyStar sticker..
