I can chime in on this. Usually if you are in bed and your feet are cold, either your entire body is cold and you need to focus on that so your body loses its constrictive blood flow that is trying to keep the core of your body warm, or you probably have a bad circulation issue that needs to be addressed medically.

If someone is cold walking around the house, I have no problems walking on 40 degree wood floors with slippers on, my feet never feel the temperature, super cheap insulation.

Sleep with socks on and add another blanket and if you are still cold, turn on a mattress pad heater and you are golden, if your body is on the warm side it will send extra blood to the rest of your body to help cool itself off, it happens long before you feel too warm/hot and the feet will be warm.

Great article. In my experience, trying to warm your body or your hands by using hot water definitely doesn't do the trick because as soon as you wipe off your hands they have the moisture soaked in that will evaporate and make them very cold again, very quick. I also agree about the whole movement thing, moving around and doing something will warm you up quick, especially if you have a hoodie or sweatshirt on to hold that little bit of heat in and you can be toasty pretty quick even if you are in a very cold environment.
