Installing bathroom sink and tap
Hey guys, just wondering if there's anything I should know before installing a sink and new tap in our bathrooms. It looks fairly simple but I just thought I'd check with you guys before I started. Any tips or tricks to doing things.

Assemble most of it before dropping the bowl in the counter.
Don't forget to calk under the lip of the bowl. a little plumber's putty under the drain ring will help avoid leaks. And don't catch the stopper on the lever like they tell you to, so it can easily be removed for cleaning. |
What is the easiest way to get the old sink out? Run a knife under the sink, and lift it (of course take care of the plumbing)?

I would say get new braided lines if new one does not have them. Also check the size of the fittings. I replaced my sink faucet a while ago and it was a PIA because the line from the wall is a odd size that is not common and the valve was broken.
It made it harder since I was also adding a water filter as a separate tap, so I had a weird combo of NPT, compression, and press in fittings mostly in non standard sizes. |
Thanks guys I'll give those things a shot.
