15.4 watt LED lighting for garage entry door

With the IR motion sensor / dual 150w floods going bad,
I decided to try something different.. Dusk to Dawn LEDs!

Testing on the KillaWatt says $1.08 per month. With 12 hour nights @ 20 cents per KWH..

Plan to install this week, when the weather warms a bit..

Did you check amps or watts?

Just the watts.. It said 15W, so I used one of my other monitor units and measured 15.4 watts.
It's been running in the den, over six hours (tape over photocell) and the heat
from the lens area is about 72F with the solid plastic top area (power-supply) up to about 85F.
So, I pronounce it Cool-Runnin.. :)
Those cost numbers came right out of the old KillaWatt meter.. CEFGW.

It looks pretty nice.. Seems like it's going to work okay.
When I starting thinking about a light being on all night, and using my telescope this summer..
I decided to add RF remote control..
Pulled down the old dual flood and installed the LED lamp on same siding adapter.
I did have to drill two holes for supplied screws, to fasten to the threaded holes in the siding adapter-box..

I'll take night-time pictures to show how well the LEDs light up the area..

Cheers,
Rich

The lighting indirectly lights the walkway between the driveway and porch.
It's not super bight, but about what I expected from reading the reviews.
Since there is only one window on the east side of the house, (dinning area)
and we sleep on the west side of the house,
there will be no problem with the new LED light keeping us awake..

It does cast enough light on the back deck, to interfere with stargazing.
So, the RF remote control will come in handy..

Cheers,
Rich

For 15 watts it looks like it does a pretty good job.
