For those of you looking for alternatives to oil or gas for central heating, how about a wood gasification boiler for the home?

I've been reading a lot recently about wood gasification, mostly about home-made camp stoves and older setups circa World War II. This is the first modern, commercial, wood gasification boiler for home use that I've seen.

The author chose the setup because it gives him more options for heating his home. It definitely reduces his reliance on oil, and he doesn't need to worry about possible wood pellet shortages.
