copper pipes in foundation for cooling

Foundation cooling - Hack a Day
Sounds like an interesting idea for A/C. Not sure if there will be long term problems with thermal stress.

Interesting idea.

I'm assuming, but it looks incredibly wasteful. It just looks like he'd run cold water through it and then dump that water. Of course I could be completely wrong...

copper pipe cooling can also be used on computer graphic card. The higher performance which the graphic card has, the more heater it generate. therefore heat sink for graphic card become more and more large. and usually made of copper. although water cooling also be used in computer, it seems a litter of crazy for most diyer.:D
I think it is similar with A/C you have mentioned.

New member to the forum, so I hope this isn't too late to throw in for thought. Our last house was built on a slab foundation. The copper piping under the slab was about 8 years old when it started leaking. My research concluded that concrete and copper tubing are not the best combination. Some kind of chemical reaction that corrodes away at the copper. Radiant floor advertisements that I've read use PEX tubing. Food for thought, maybe.
