Wall of windows along ceiling in modern ranch, insulated blinds? DIY?
Hello,
We are in the renovating a 50's ranch in WA State. The west wall of our house is mostly glass /doors on both floors. The glass in the windows pictured here is double pane. All the other single wall glass is coming out of the house this year. I have some twin wall poly going in to replace the old single sheets of decorative glass on the public side of the house. (this is where I tried to put pictures up) I cant post links or images because of forum rules. Hurray. The windows In question are pictured here running along the top of the house. I would like to put a set of something automated and insulating along these top windows. If money where no object I would probably throw in automated Hunter Douglas blinds in all the static windows. Currently we burn wood for heat. I am going to try to put a heat pump in this summer. Are there cheaper alternatives? Are there other cool solutions to deal with this that I don't even know about? |
Hey blueox,
If you introduce yourself and/or comment a few more times you'll be able to post pictures. Tim |
Thats probably not a bad Idea!
I will head over and do that now. -ry |

They have a lot of nice products, of course there are other companies that offer other cheaper alternatives. The silhouette ones still let some light through but not to much. |
