Got a new LG dryer

LG Electronics 7.3 cu. ft. Electric Front Control Dryer in White-DLE1101W - The Home Depot

Our old dryer was on it's last legs, so we decided to replace it.
The LG DLE1101W has good reviews and it's the right size etc.

I believe we'll be able to learn how to set it up for (rare) small loads
and likely use the Auto-off sensor mode for the normal and big loads.

In theory, we should end up using less kWh because we
have more precise control over the power level and run time.

This is our LG dryer it has two heating elements and duel moisture sensors. It does a pretty good job on knowing when the load is dry.
Shopping Tourism: Shop Internationally at Sears
It is almost 3 years old and we have had good luck with it so far I hope yours performs well for you.

Run! Monster!

Wow! That thing is a monster! Perfect for a football team..

Our old dryer had mechanical controls (15 or 18 years old) and still worked..
But, I had repaired it once a few years ago, (blower fan blade & pwr plug connector).
It sounded like the fan again, but was much louder..
This was our second dryer.. Since 1968.. LOL!
It seems like a lot of lint was slipping past the filter..
I've been taking it apart every couple of years for a deep cleaning..

I decided it would be a good time to get a new one, while I'm still healthy
enough to take the back door off it's hinges.. (Need 27" for this tiny dryer)..
I had forgotten how heavy that door was!

Anyways, I hope dryer #3 is immune to HV spikes and doesn't loose it's mind someday during a storm..

The quality looks real good.. Can't wait to fill up the hamper..
Wife did a wash yesterday.. Dang!

I would say you got your money out of that old dryer.

Our old washer was 27 years old and never repaired. It went to PA Cuba, RI, and SC.
It still work we sold it on Clist for ½ of what we paid for it.
The guy that bought it loved it and said he would do a couple things to it and it would last another 20 years. He said they don’t make them like that anymore.

We have not had as good luck with dryers as you had.
If the moisture sensor works well it could save you some $$$
Ours works well even on small loads.
Those reviews do look pretty good.

Run natural gas if you have gas at your house. Costs 1/3 vs electric in most areas.

Gas?

We have too many leaks already..

https://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/20...LIM/story.html

"The leaks would be enough to heat as many as 200,000 homes a year and are valued at $90 million a year, the authors said."

When my wife and I go for a walk, we always smell gas leaks.
For years, the gas company has been drilling 1" holes in the roads and sidewalks to vent the gas..

Makes me wonder what it would be like if we had a medium strength earthquake..
Greater Boston might end up burning to the ground..
