High Head Pump

I have 24 feet to get to the top of my collector from my storage tank almost staight up does anyone know of a good choice of a pump for a drainback system ? submersible or not ? AC/DC?

I feel your pain Joe! I have spent the last several days looking for the same "holy grail"... Anyone have any ideas? I really need to keep the price down on this and running into problems in the under $150 range.

I have no idea what the costs are, but can it be done with a couple of smaller pumps? Say, three 8-foot pumps, each emptying into a bucket where the next pump can pick up the water and lift it higher?

Pumps seem to be popular tonight :)

The Taco 009 is a good one and will do 30+ ft.

Some others in these pump curves:

These are regular HVAC pumps -- built like a tank, reasonably efficient, and not very expensive (at least if you settle for the iron case).

The SwiftTech MCP355 is a pc cooling pump that will do 20 ft. of head. Newegg.com has it for about $65.

Idk about using buckets, what if the flow rates are slightly different? could lead to an ugly overflow problem or one of the pumps sucking air..

Would it be possible to put multiple smaller pumps in series? maybe plumb them with the pumps at the bottom their own "U"?
