My house has 16" overhangs. The mini is under the overhang and does not get clogged by the snow. Rich I thought you built a roof over your mini. I left my fujitsu running all night. It was set at 66 but could only keep the house at 65. Usually when set to 66 it will keep the house 68-69. See how it does tonight supposed to be -1. Turned the water heater to all resistance. Basement was down to 47.

My basement has been staying right at 50F, thanks to all the oil we've been burning.

I've been outside during a snow storm and watched one of my units pulling in the snow. I could see it slowly build up.
I do have a pretty good roof over one unit, but the other only has a very small make-shift rain roof.

It's just to keep water from dripping down from the side of the house and running
down in front of the HX coil.

The temperature has started to drop, by midnight the forecast shows us in the low single digits.
I'll be shutting down the Sanyos at around 8F, which might be pretty quick.

I don't like leaving them on during very low temps, after they start using 2Kw.
Better to shut them off, and get the same heat from 2kW in space heaters. :p

When I see a forecast with less than 10F for early in the morning,
I can set my Sanyos to turn off, 1/2 hour after the oil burner comes on.

The oil burner timer was installed before we started using the A7 for hotwater.
I've done one timer setup run, and it worked like a charm.
