Very cool boss indeed! What made you choose ground mount vs roof?
|
i dont have a south facing roof
|
I have a south facing roof, but my wife isn't willing to put up with an 'eye-sore'..
My stuff (1300w) is out in the backyard. http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...solarfarm2.jpg The arrays are in the best location that I have (back there), but they only get about 50% of the sun available on the roof.. :( My photo edit: http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1.../Paneldora.jpg Maybe someday when energy is costing us more than food & cable, I'll stick some PV on that nice roof.. :) |
x there not an eyesore by any means in my opinion i think there neat looking
i got a dc breaker enclosure that mounts to my inverter http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...219_181029.jpg http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...219_181013.jpg i also got a power vent for my batt bank. a 175 amp breaker for the batt bank and an 80 amp breaker for the charge controller along with a shunt http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...219_181004.jpg |
i should note that just the vent, enclosure, shunt and breakers were $330 shipped they nickle and dime ya lol
|
That's some sweet lookin gear.. :) Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Some people think a neat ground mounted solar array is beautiful. And I'm one of those guys.. I just like looking at them.. Like eye candy... :) http://www.arkansaswindandsolar.com/...roundsmall.jpg |
thats the exact size array as my bosses house which is also a ground mount i like ground mounts also but if my roof was facing the correct way it would go up there
