Well, the author of that article is not keeping up with energy efficient lighting: she says "constantly flickering florescent LED bulbs". Sheesh -- CFL's are the ones that "flicker" BUT you cannot see it (on the newer ones at least), and LED's are very definitely steady state. So in one phrase, she managed to conflate at least three things...

That paint tends to be a bit off from white. Well, all the woodwork in my house is white. If a person painted a strip of trim on the wall near the floor with the glow-in-the-dark paint, it would allow a person to wander around at night without bumping into walls. It would be good for not waking up other people at night by turning the lights on. It would also be nice for when you have house guests visiting. It would also be good for stairwells. Those are never lit well enough, especially by your feet. I'm not saying that glow in the dark paint is going to light up the place - more to show you where things are. |
