Water saver Dual Flush kits for 3” Drain valve

3 Attachment(s)
Water Saver

I installed the BlueSource HydroRight Dual Flush in my 1.6 gal toilet and really liked it. My other two toilets are newer with a 3” flush valve. There are not many options out there. I called BlueSource HydroRight to see if they are making one or are about to make one but all they could say is they plan on making an adapter to make the current one work. But they have not even started doing it.

I bought one of the water saver kits for the 3” flush valve toilet. This kit requires you to take the tank apart. This is no big deal I had to do that when I installed the BlueSource HydroRight Dual Flush kit because my flush valve was not combatable with the kit.

The biggest thing with this unit was to position the block that it connected to the cable with the cables going down. (I attached a picture) this is not clear in the directions.

I really like the handle on this unit it has a green dot for the ½ flush and a blue for full flush.

BlueSource HydroRight Dual Flush $19.95 + tax home depot
water saver Dual Flush kit $35.90 shipped

Our water cost $4.90 per 1,000 gallons
The cost to fit the three toilets was about $90.
If I save as much as they claim the payback is right around 2 years.
Either way saving water is just good for everyone.

Thanks for the review!

I had wondered if anyone made 3" kits. Its good to know since that seems like the way many manufacturers are going.

It was a pain to have buy 3” kit and more costly. But they actually flush better now than they did before I installed the kits. I was going to replace them but now I don’t have to. So in the end it saved me buying new ones that were $199 a piece + new rings. All said in done it would have been about $450 to replace the two of them with a suitable replacements.

The water savers handle have been getting worse as they get older. When they flush it does a good job but they do not work like they did when they were new.

The handles do not come back up every time. I really think the cable system needs to be a little longer.
I am going to write the company when work slows down a little.

They really need to change the handles to be like HydroRight Dual Flush Converter

I have one HydroRight Dual Flush and the handle flushes exactly the same as it did day one but

Do not buy this brand. They are a pain. I called company they are not much help.
I will be removing the water saver drain valve kit at some point.

I have one HydroRight Dual Flush and they real deal. If they would make one for the 3” flush valve toilet I would get them.
