Where to recycle things for cash

I found this link surfing around today. Its a pretty good article titled Where to Recycle Everything for Cash. Well, the list is far from everything, but it does give some good ideas.

that is better then I thought, I save up all my metal cans and wire, all of it and take it to the scrap yard, but prices have gone so far down that I got $60 per ton, compare to a year ago when it was $250 per ton for steel.
not sure how to get money for them, but the plastic that milk jugs (number 2 I think) has been worth more per pound then steel, the revenue goes to pay for the wages of the people who pick up your recycling, I of course don't produce enough to pay for pickup.

I need to head down to the recycling yard myself one of these days, tons of junk in the garage, :)

it's not really the best time to cash in, I took 400 pounds of steel, a few pounds of aluminum, and a bucket of romex copper wire, made $10 total, on the other hand I had to haul the stuff someplace anyway, and would have had to use a truck to haul it.

Prices must vary regionally, cuz I just took in ~500lbs of low grade scrap tin and got ~$22 for it. Car bodies are going from ~$115/ton and blocks ~$130/ton IIRC.
