Just came in today.
I think I did alright. Gotta go pick up two D-cell batteries and I'll give it a test. :D

Those units work well, but you have to calibrate them often. Kind of like the analog multimeters. Nothing wrong with antique test equipent: I have lots of it. The stuff just works and works forever unless you kill it somehow. I have become attached to some of those babies: I will die with some of my old sencore stuff.

The instructions for calibration in the lid don't seem so bad to me. For what it cost I'm sure it'll serve my purposes. I love old tools too! :D

FYI: I got my self-calibrating digital micron gauge for $130 new.

My gauge has been sitting in the basement 99.9% of the time for almost 7 years..

(Scroll down three posts).

I've only used it a few times, so it's still like new..
Last month I used it to check out my vac pump.. Everything is still working like when it was new! :)
Just have to remember to remove the 9V battery after each use..

And to think, I once considered selling these tools!

Nope, I kept all my tools. Thats why I bought yellow jacket in the first place; I figured once I started down the rabbit hole....... ;)

Heck, living around Houston, learning to do AC cooling is more valuable
than being able to shoot a hunting rifle..

I lived in dry West Texas as a kid.. Visited Houston once. That was enough! Way more humid than I liked.
In April 1963, when I got off the plane in Bermuda, the first thing I said,
"Is this Houston"? :p
