I'm not familiar with this particular brand. Will it stop producing power when the grid is down? They seem to cover everything but that in their specs. I know that's the first thing the power company is going to ask.

I'm sure it does. It is a grid tie inverter that many people are using. If it didn't have that feature it wouldn't be legal to use.
