UV from CFLs?

Reading about this again today and noticed something that may be of interest. Tiny hair-line cracks in the florescent coating (inside the tube) are where the strong UV is emitted. So, if you are using a CLF as a reading or work lamp, you might want to inspect it for cracks. I can recall seeing those little cracks in many CFLs that I've replaced over the years.. |
So you can get some vitamin D and a tan? :-)
