Black Friday helped me switch from a plasma TV that used 560 watts to a LED TV that uses 103.22 watts.
My wife works from home so our TV stays on alot of hours. This should save us alot of power.

They only had 15 TV at our store and my son and I braved the crowds. He got a Xbox 360 and I got my energy star 6.0 LED TV. less than 1 w Standby.

How big is it? My 55" Samsung only uses about 70-80W.

We had a 60” plasma so we just went to a 70” Vizio LED TV. Everything on sound bar DirectTV dvr is about 130 watts. I was pretty happy with that and the picture is better than the plasma.
This new TV has a four year payback for us.

It's really great that you guys have found low power consumption appliances, but having a TV of any size can be overwhelming.

And you guys are talking about TVs that occupy a major percentage of the size of a wall.

Big Brother is not only watching, Big Brother is also talking.

Personally, I make a major effort to search the world (literally) to find something of sufficient worth before I allow it to enter my home through the portal of my modest 32".

TV has awesome power... be vigilant.

You already saved a lot of power from 560 watt to 103.22 watt. Great work, LED always saves lot of power.

My new 40" Vizio M401i-A3 only uses about 45W typically. It peaks at ~52W, with the built in speakers. I use an AV receiver for sound, so that consumes more power; which I need to check ...

I'm not sure how prevalent they are now, but the Samsung 5000 series TVs were the lowest energy consuming TVs I could find when I was looking a couple years back. My 46" only used ~36W (after tweaking settings).

We are super happy with our new TV it has a amazing picture and power savings on top of all that. We got a killer black Friday deal. LED TV’s are so much more efficient than other TV’s and they have very good pictures.
