Insulating window inserts

1 Attachment(s)
Last year someone asked for photo of how I skinned extra screen inserts with window stretch wrap for extra insulation over winter. I remembered before I stored them this year. I skinned both sides so windows are quad paned over winter. Just just swap them for summer screen and run cheap transparent tape over edge to sill to seal. Two of my windows do not have full screens(not casement) so I made frames for whole window without the screen. Neat and easy. I have three windows that condensate(even being double glazed). One over sink, two in our green area(plant heavy).

The screen keep out many more insects than just mosquitos but doesn't No-see-ums. The screen is unnecessary for insulated insert purposes it is just already in the extra screens I had. I have one that is just the screen frame with double plastic film and one that is a wooden frame and film(for a double hung window).

What did you skin them with?
