How to Finish Drywall: 18 Steps to Smooth Joints

I'm not sure how many here have done drywall work, but being a person who has only done one job I can say its a pain. Here is a decent run through of the tools and materials you'll need as well as some good step by step process and tips to help you reduce the amount of time needed to do the mud work.

What tips do you guys have?

Thanks for the link!

I have my basement to finish this winter so this will come in handy.

Some things I've learned:

It's easier to sand down high spots, hard to sand down TO a low spot. If you have low spots, stop sanding and fill them first.

I do joints in about 4ft sections. Longer than that and it's hard for me to keep things smooth and keep things from drying out too much to stick.
