Cheap Killawatts! Buy 'em while you can!

I don't usually post weird deals and things, but I just got an e-mail flyer that included getting Kill-a-Watts for under $20.

I think this deal is only good through Feb 11, 2009, so grab 'em while you can.

Killawatt purchasing link

That comes with free ground shipping and an "instant savings".

Add coupon code: EL20P on checkout to get your total down to $17.99.

Poof! Start saving energy for under $20!

I think I paid $35 when I bought mine.

The only down-side is that it comes in bulk packaging, but you didn't want that wasteful retail packaging anyways did you?

Hi,
Our local Costco has the Kill-A-Watt EZ for somewhere in $20's.
The EZ has some onboard memory and won't loose data over a power outage -- you can unplug it from wall and still read the KWH totals.

Is that the only feature of the EZ? I looked on their site briefly this morning, but they don't clearly state differences.

Having on-board memory is a real improvement!

As a Kill-a-watt P3 user for more than two years, I'd say that having on-board memory is a real improvement!

I got mine back when they were expensive..
It's going to take a few more years before it pays for itself.. ;(

It looks like it might be usable on a 230v device too. (If you hack).. ;)

Hi,
To be honest, I've not really had a chance to spend any time with it. To a quick glance it appears to allow you to set power rates, and it will then make estimates of power cost -- there may be more.
Again, just to a first glance, it does not appear to be quite as easy to use -- it has the menu key approach with up/down etc.

I just picked one up because I use my old Kill-A-Watt a lot, and lend it to people, so I thought it would be good to have a spare on hand.

Gary

PS -- PV system passed inspection and is up and running. Just waiting for NW Energy to install the net meter so I get credit for the power. We had 22 inches(!) of snow over the last two days, so I guess I finished just in time :)
