Sealing air ducts

I gotta do this soon. We just started having to fire up the furnace this week as temps outside haven't gotten any higher than low 60s. I don't think its too bad as is, but it still needs to be done. I know a few of you have done this. Any recommendation on how to do it, or what materials to use?

I just got a roll of that aluminum duct tape and went to town with it. It's not perfect, but it works well enough.

I used the real metal stuff, not the famous fix-everything stuff.

Technically, taping ducts is about the only thing you CAN"T do with duct tape.

Yes, that aluminum tape is more expensive, but it's the right thing to use.

Anyone use duct mastic? I have some odd bends and the inside of a right angle to seal. This sounds like it would work better for it?

I've seen them wrapped in aluminum tape at the joints..then with a foam insulation to hold in the radiant heat.
