Using the Kindle Fire as a Home Automation Touchscreen
Found this posting interesting..
AV and Automation Industry eMagazine - Using the Kindle Fire as a Home Automation Touchscreen | HomeToys Got my wife an IPad Mini for Xmas, so I'm going to get the Kindle Fire back! :D Thinking of doing a wall mount setup, if I can easily use the CAI board's webpage with the Fire touch screen. http://ecorenovator.org/forum/applia...ontroller.html I've been wanting to work on the CAI project again, but didn't like the idea of needing to turn on a Windows PC every time I wanted to check something. I don't think using the Fire as a dedicated CAI Controller interface is going to deprive me of being able to check emails etc (without a Windows PC powered up), since I should soon be getting a used Iphone 4, that I can use on WiFi, like it was a iPod Touch. I will likely use that for most of the apps I would have run on the Fire. (Email checks etc). Since the Iphone 4 has audio and video I/O, I may be able to use it Google Phone, FaceTime & etc. Things the Fire can't do.. Plus, it has no Bluetooth.. Happy New Year!! |
