I've looked at the labels for electric 50 gallon HWH's and they use appoximately 4800 KwH annually according to the energy label. Easy to do the math to ~ 400 KwH month for a 50 gallon HWH. Even if you don't have a 50 gallon HWH, 466 KwH for a month is far better than me when your electric HWH is factored in. Well done!
I have a natural gas HWH and still used 291 KwH of electricity on my last bill. I was very pleased with that number until you raised the bar on efficiency. :p |
Your system is looking so Nice. This residential 4 kW solar system includes Schott 220 solar panels that connect to an Outback 7.2 kW inverter.

Does your system charge into batteries as well? I have rigged mine through a relay so that when the mains fails and the grid tie goes offline, then the relay diverts the solar to the batteries which powers the uninterruptible power supply. This guarantees that all solar produced is used, and not wasted when the grid fails.

my system allways feeds the batterys

I enjoyed looking at your PV build , It is very much like mine. Outback is great stuff. Did you add a Mate, Hub or Flexnet DC to your system? I would look at it. I had built two other Outback systems for friends and am doing one for our house. I have one more to do for a friend and will start his soon. Have you heard about VisualMATE by Wattplot careware it works great and helps everyone see what the system is doing. Chuck
