Got any pictures of this setup? Sounds like a nice solution.

It's that time of year again. http://i536.photobucket.com/albums/f...psb4idkrns.gif Time to put up that bubble wrap. http://i536.photobucket.com/albums/f...pswy1licpa.jpg And remember... Be careful out there... http://i536.photobucket.com/albums/f...psx14uopqy.gif :) > |
I have one window for sure that I'm going to do this on. It's a closet(!) window that faces north towards the front street. Nobody ever looks out that window. It's just a cold closet. Scrounging in progress.

Finally has gotten cold enough here this winter to need to put up the window covers. Here is a pc of the one for my casement window using an extra screen with shrink window film on each side. Extra frame came with bud screen in so I left it but removed the pull locks that hold it in because they end up between film layers. Once in place in window I transparent tape it in to seal gap and hold it. You will thank yourself in spring if you extend tape enough to fold over a little grip tab for removal. Cover window locking lever with tape if there is one also. I store and reuse extra insert season to season. It goes in view window over kitchen sink(double glazed) on N side of house that gets covered in interior frost/ice without it. In, zero icing.
The bubble wrap lined frame for a DH window that needs insulation(in N bedroom) I can not find. I think it met a mysterious end this summer and rest in the land fill(my wife hated it, but it worked). |

Just a little reminder. Time to put up some bubble wrap. Especially with this cold snap that’s upon us. If you haven’t tired it give it a go. I think you’ll be impressed. Happy Holidays :) > . |
