Thats an amazing price. I'm on the wrong side of the continent in the other country so duty bringing it across the border would kill me on these. shipping to seattle is only $55 though so that's not half bad

Actually, I just found out that Canadian Solar panels are made in China..
But, all my other panels are made in China too. And they work just fine.. :D

Would they go for it? I know it's a discontinued model, but they are still being

I think so... they are all MC4 from what I remember.. I didn't have a chance to open it yet.
Just finshed wiring a ac cutover.

I wire the output of the enphase inverter (240v) to a ac cutoff. I tied the Sunnyboy ac output to the output of cutoff switch. I can't wire directly into the outdoor because the utility company place a tag on it.

enphase ----> cutoff ---->---------> Outdoor AC cutoff.

It sounds logical to me.. You can isolate your new GTIs at either cut-off.

That may be a good idea. When running two different brands of GTI,
I would always wonder if the Sunnyboy would see the Enphase as the grid.?.
Or the other way around.. If one of the GTIs is fooled into thinking the grid is still up (after it fails),
then you might get some island thing going..

Since you will void the warranty if you splice into a module cable.

If I was buying Enphase GTIs, I would be going crazy to get the network link box..
Enphase Envoy - Energy Management Unit or, EMU...

I think that's one of the things that gives Enphase it's coolness factor.. :cool:

They didn't take my offer.. oh well...

Both inverters are tied into a outside ac cutoff switch and route it back to a 30 amp breaker to my main.. so both will see the feed from the grid.
I bought the pigtail wire. without the mounting bracket and the end plug. I just used electrical tape to cover the last inline.

I got my TED 5000.. don't want to spend another 350+ for the EMU.

Right now I am building a mount for the 3 panels out of 2x4

That TED 5000 is a nice metering system. But not real cheap as you know.

Someday, if I ever start making AC, it won't be a lot, so I can use my Kill-a-watt
meter or maybe take the Efergy sensor off the Sanyo and put it on the inverter.

I can also look at DC into a load using my little panel tester..

Actually compare to other solar monitoring system. TED 5000 is cheaper.
Enphase EMU is about $350.00 and need to subscribe for about $3.00 a year.
The enphase only monitor enphase. The TED 5000 is monitoring 2 solar inverters and
the total adjusted load. The only negative about the TED 5000 is when the inverters are off. The TED still show the inverters are generating.. about 10w per hr.. So I need to adjust the output of the inverters to about 92%. The Sunnyboy monitoring setup is about $1000.00 which is crazy....I am looking to uninstall them and put it on ebay.

My MC4 connectors came the other day, and yesterday I got a 'shipped' notice.
The new panels might be here by Monday!
