I agree AC and Daox the savings math on most tech sounds good but the reality of the "real" length of service of todays mechanical appliances rarely is what is claimed. If they goal is to build/renovate homes that use 10-20% of that engery(very doable) greater effort should also be being placed on developing the infrastructure that fits that low demand. The incentives are mostly on the expensive/complex tech and not even on the highest EF products like many of those proven in Europe.
I'm sure I will DIY an HRV of some design. But even with fresh air conservation and reduction of demand is the best payback. |
