Default howdy

working on a complete make-over on my electricity consumption.... hit almost 2500 KWH a few months ago

needless to say... I went on a "crash diet" this last month and got my energy bill down (temporarily) to $53 LOL!

Goals:
new appliances (have my eyes on a new stove or fridge this Black Friday)
80Plus power supplies in my PCs and Servers (7 machines, some run 24-7)
LCD monitors
LCD TVs
replace some CFLs with LEDs

Already completed:
All lights are CFL
new furnace

Welcome to the site Southcross.

It sure sounds like your diet is working. Those are some pretty drastic steps! Good luck with getting that consumption down.

well... unfortunately, its just a crash diet and soon I have to go back to eating KWH for breakfast/lunch/dinner.... I operate a small web/FTP/SQL server farm in my 2nd bedroom LOL

so far I've replaced two of my servers with smaller (lower power consuming) machines... unfortunately, I haven't found a replacement for the big machine (it has 3 power supplies: 1 main and 2 redundant for HD storage array pulls like 600w when idle)
