It's worth considering the background heat in the home. I did a $100 hack on the laundry closet that captures the heat of condensation from a condensing clothes dryer. I mounted a bipole light switch wired as A/B along with a snap disk thermostat on the closet ceiling. Forward in the summer vents it through an ERV. Back in the winter vents the closet into the bathroom using a through-wall fan. The condensing dryer itself is a major energy saver in my super-tight house.
Someone here should hack a heat-pump clothes dryer. Just sayin.
